I have a costume conundrum. It is one month (minus a day) before Geek Prom. I want to be Princess Leia going to the prom. No, I do not want to go in a Princess Leia costume. I have a pair of awesome buns (that I put on my head) which were made for me a couple years ago when I was a Princess Leia PEZ dispenser for Halloween ( And again was a PL PEZ at the Minnesota PEZ Convention and won third place in a costume contest).
But the PEZ costume is very difficult to move in. So difficult, in fact, that at a Halloween party a couple years ago I asked Geek Prom founder to move my car out of a tight spot. This was a favor gone bad, as he was equally impaired by alcohol as I was mobility impaired; end result was a scratched car. Never let your friends drink & drive. Or drive in PEZ costumes.
Anyway, I don't want to be an imperfect replica of the movie Star Wars Princess Leia and nor do I want to be a mobility impaired PEZ dispenser. I want to be Leia going to the prom. I'm pretty sure they didn't have proms a "Long time ago in a galaxy far, far away".
Or maybe the 80s, when I didn't go to the prom in high school, suffices as a long time ago, but now is the galaxy where a girl with cinnamon rolls on her head goes to the prom.
Dress suggestions are welcomed.
So much for the "post a day until 2007" resolution. I now resolve to not make any more post promises until 2007.
The little pirate & I have been busy the last few days saying farewell to our dear friend Erik who will be joining another dear friend, his wife Dianna, in Minneapolis.
Amongst the sadness of losing yet another good friend to the big city, there is something which makes me gleeful: MRS. CLAUS HAS BEEN FOUND!
My friend Laurie , who we lost to the big city of Chicago, found her there. I'm very jealous of Laurie because she will be attending the Buffy Sing-A-Long in Chicago. The show is not even going to Minneapolis, so I won't be visiting all my friends whom I've lost to that big city while attending "Once More With Feeling".
I have one more post to make and thought perhaps I could wait to post it until after midnight, which would suffice for tomorrow's post requirement, but I'm very tired.
So I'm going to blog at least once a day until 2007. I shall begin with one Christmas complaint.

Purple is my nickname and internet alias but someone else here had it already; they out voxed me. Collecting PEZ dispensers is another passion of mine, so Purple PEZ is an appropriate handle.

PEZ dispensers! I'm unemployed and recently got a credit card for emergency items. I was thinking I'd use it for car repairs or to replace my glasses which are held together with super glue. I made my first purchases with it today:
Thankfully my son was not with me, else I wouldn't have been able to justify the purchases. At least this "emergency" was less than $20.
