For some reason, when I go to my blog there is always a linked advertisement at the bottom of the page which says "Caskets that are Purple." I'm unsure why I have not clicked on this link yet, because I am curious, but really hope I'm not in the market for a casket. Would it be bad luck to click on the link?
If I ever put together a grrrl goth band, I will call it "Caskets That Are Purple". Thank you very much, Vox.
- I met Vice President Walter F. Mondale.
- Actually, I co-arranged a lunch/lecture event in his honor.
- The University's Chancellor introduced me to Mondale.
- We packed the venue (holds 370), the overflow room (90) and the upper and bottom lobby (live-cast monitors in place).
- Event was covered by all the local media.
- Mondale was pleased, my boss was pleased, the chancellor was pleased, I'm pleased and still standing.
- There were few mishaps.
- Lp's being moved-up to fifth-grade reading; he's in third grade.
- I'm an event adrenaline junkie; today I got a good fix and a big high.
- It was not so cold.
- I'm not so stressed.
- My son's reading teacher called him "a rock star"
- I am a rock star.
For the last five years, local musician/ Shaky Ray owner & writer Mark Lindquist has held an after-christmas Bad Sweater Party at Pizza Luce. I had never been, so I was very excited to learn that this year it would take place on the weekend that Little Pirate would be at his Dad's.
Unfortunately, there was a lot happening last evening and I missed all the really bad sweaters. First, Jerree, Crystal & I met-up at the Pap Smear (a moniker a college friend gave to the Tap Room; He said "although I never had one, I suspect that entering the Tap Room is as pleasant as having a pap smear") to see the Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank and the White Iron Band. I like both bands, so I'm glad I went to see them live. Still, it was rather depressing to get to Luce after midnight and find that most of the bad sweater-wearers had left the building.
But I did get a sweet picture of Jerree Small and Al Sparhawk in their not-so-bad sweaters. Jerree commented that Al's sweater looked like a sock monnkey.
Here's a full pic of sock-monkey sweater:
How did you pick your Vox name? Does it mean something?

Purple is my nickname and internet alias but someone else here had it already; they out voxed me. Collecting PEZ dispensers is another passion of mine, so Purple PEZ is an appropriate handle.
